Most clubs land somewhere between a couple of dollars and around twenty-five a month, with the sweet spot for a handmade monthly piece often in the ten-to-twenty range. Simple letter clubs sit at the low end. Art prints, original pieces, and anything shipping across oceans cost more. You can find a lovely club for the price of a magazine.

What you’re paying for
You’re not really paying for materials. You’re paying for the made thing and the person who made it: the time, the care, the design, the trip to the post office. A mail club is one of the few things you can buy where most of the price is someone’s attention. That’s why a good one feels less like a purchase and more like a gift you set up for yourself.
Why prices vary
Three things move the number.
What’s inside: a folded letter costs less to make than a hand-pulled print. Where it ships: international postage can double the cost of a single envelope. And how handmade it is: the more of it touched by a real hand, the more the price reflects that. A higher number isn’t a markup. It’s usually more handmaking in the envelope.
Free and cheap clubs exist
There are free and nearly-free clubs run purely for the love of it, and plenty of good ones under ten dollars. Price isn’t the same as quality here: a two-dollar letter written with care can mean more than a thirty-dollar box.
Is it worth it?
Would a small, real, anticipated thing in your mailbox each month make your month a little better? If yes, almost any mail club pays for itself in the five minutes you spend opening it. It’s one of the cheapest joys going.
