Mail Club Hub is a free directory for people who love real mail. This page explains, in plain words, how we make money, how we decide what to feature, and what you can trust about our reviews.
How Mail Club Hub makes money
The directory is free to browse and free to be listed in. We keep it that way on purpose.
Mail Club Hub is part of the Slow Mail Society, which runs our own mail clubs and products: Dear Future Self, The Reindeer Post, a course on starting a mail club, and Mail Club Hub gift cards. Most of what we earn comes from these. Whenever something on this site is ours, we say so plainly.
You will also see our own clubs, Dear Future Self and The Reindeer Post, featured on the home page. That is deliberate: giving the spotlight to our own clubs, instead of selling it, is what lets every other creator list here for free. No one can pay for that spot.
No affiliate links, no paid rankings
We do not use affiliate links, and we earn nothing when you buy from an outside shop. We used to, and we have removed them. If we point you toward a pen or a paper we love, it is because we love it, not because someone pays us.
We also never take money to feature a club, rank it higher, or slip it into a "best of" list. Every listing is free, and no club can buy its way to the top.
Gift cards
A Mail Club Hub gift card is $15 for one full month of any participating club. Of that, $10 goes to the club and $5 keeps the directory running. The full details are on our gift card terms page.
How we choose what to feature
We recommend clubs and products we use, love, or have looked into carefully. We try to tell you what something does well, who it is for, and any honest caveats. We do not write empty hype.
We do not accept paid reviews. If a maker ever sends us something to try, we will say so in the review, and our opinion stays honest either way. If we lose faith in something we recommended, we update it or take it down. The "Last updated" date on each article shows when we last looked it over.
Questions
Any question about how we make money or what we feature, write to us on the contact page and a real person (hello, it is K. Larkin) will answer.
